Camp No Sight No Limits Fall 2020

Dates:  Dates TBD, but likely the first week of November Wednesday-Sunday

You will spend 5 days learning open water swim skills, pool instruction and working on stroke work and hip drafting with your guides in an Endless Pool. This will be followed by tandem bike handling skills, mechanics lessons, and rides along the coast and a time trial. You will run on the track and in a duathlon with your guides as well and work on run mechanics and drills and practice on adaptive treadmills that are safe for blind runners (alter G and light speed lift ). In addition we will be doing strength training and attend dinners and lectures on guide selection, training, race preparation, nutrition and sports psychology.   

 

You will have access to products from dozens of sponsors and guides and tandems will be made available if you do not have your own ON A LIMITED AND CASE BY CASE BASIS. Room for 15 athletes and 15 guides in total. Learn from Olympians and Paralympians and world champion coaches. Camp Requirements:  

for Blind Athletes:  must have completed at least two triathlons with a guide of any distance.  Must be comfortable cycling for a 1 hour ride at a moderate pace with hills.  Must have completed 2 open water swims with a guide prior to camp.

 

Guides:  Must have EXCELLENT bike handling skills and have tandem experience.  Must be A safe open water swimmer who is strong enough to tread water for 30 minutes if needed.
